Learn how to renew your Kenyan Passport online using the eCitizen Portal. This guideline is aimed at persons whose passport pages have been exhausted or have their passports expired.
Requirements for Renewal of Passport in Kenya
During the process of renewing your Kenyan passport, you will be required to upload or submit the following documents;
- One printout of a completed form and two corresponding receipts (Available on E-Citizen)
- Original and one copy of Kenyan Birth Certificate. (Both sides)
- Original Kenya National ID card and a copy of Kenyan ID.
- Original and a copy of the Bio Data Page of the passport being renewed. (Old Passport)
- A copy of the Certificate of Registration if Kenyan by registration
- Two passports sized-photographs 45mm x 35mm (UK Standard Size).
- Applications must be recommended by a Kenyan citizen, who should provide a copy of his/her passport or ID card.

Renew your Kenyan Passport online with these guidelines;
- Visit the eCitizen Portal and create an account (Log in if you already registered)
- Fill out the online application form
- Scan and upload the required documents
- Pay the prescribed fee based on your type of passport
- Book Appointment
- Print the duly completed application form and two (2) invoices
- Submission and bio-metrics (on the appointment date)

Kenya Passport Renewal Duration
It takes a minimum of ten (10) working days for your passport to be ready once your form gets to the immigration office. It can take longer if more information is needed or your application hasn’t been filled out correctly.
