Requirements for Nouonline Admission

To be eligible for admission into NOUN, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Minimum Age: You must be at least 16 years old at the time of application.
  2. O’Level Result: You must possess a minimum of five credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained at not more than two sittings.
  3. JAMB UTME: Applicants must have written the UTME and obtained the minimum score for their proposed course of study.
  4. Direct Entry: Applicants with a minimum of Upper Credit in the relevant National Diploma or National Innovation Diploma or its equivalent, are eligible for direct entry admission into the appropriate undergraduate program of the University.
  5. Postgraduate: if you have a first degree from a recognized institution and a minimum of Second Class Lower Division, are eligible for admission into the appropriate Postgraduate Diploma or Masters Degree programs of the University.

How to Apply to National Open University of Nigeria

Follow these steps to begin your application process to NOUN using Nouonline Admission Portal.

  1. Visit the NOUN Website at www.nou.edu.ng
  2. On the homepage, click on the Apply for Admission button.
  3. Select your Programme
  4. Create your Account
  5. Pay your Application Fee (This can be done using your debit card, internet banking, or by visiting any commercial bank in Nigeria)
  6. You will receive an acknowledgment email from NOUN.
  7. Complete the Application Form
  8. Login to your account and complete the application form.
  9. Submit your Application Form
  10. Click on the Submit button to complete the application process
  11. You will receive a confirmation email from NOUN that your application has been received.
  12. Print Admission Letter
  13.  You will also be required to pay the acceptance fee and register for your courses online.

  1. Visit the Nouonline Portal Website www.nouonline.net
  2. Click on Students Tab
  3. Navigate to the Register
  4. Click on Register 
  5. Enter Your Details (Matric Number, Surname, Other Names, Mobile Number, State of Origin)
  6. Click on the Submit Button
  7. Once your registration is complete, you can log in to your dashboard using your Matric Number or Username and the password you created during the registration process.

How to Check Your Remita Payment Status on Nouonline Portal

Follow the steps to check your check your wallet balance

  1. Visit Nouonline Portal
  2. Click on Check Wallet Tab
  3. Enter your Metrics Number
  4. Click on Check Wallet

The Final Clearance Process at National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN)

Follow the steps to do your clearance at National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN)

  1. Check your Wallet
  2. Determine the Total Amount Payable
  3. If the Wallet Balance is adequate, the amount gets deducted from the wallet automatically and the clearance is completed successfully
  4. If the amount payable is above the wallet balance, you are redirected to Remita to generate an RRR for payment
  5. After payment, you should submit the RRR and your Matric Number for verification
  6. The clearance process is complete If RRR verification with Renita is successful
  7. Report any discrepancy to the nearest NOUN Account Officer.
