KUCCPS Portal

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service – KUCCPS Portal has been activated for all qualified students to access KUCCPS Placement Services for the 2024/2025 academic year. The objective of this article is to assist you with guidelines on how to access and log into the KUCCPS Student portal which is the online central placement system which you will use to apply for KUCCPS placement, check your KUCCPS admission status, download your KUCCPS Placement letter among other activities.

Requirements for KUCCPS Application

All students who want to apply for KUCCPS placement must meet the following general requirements;

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen based on birth or descent
  2. You must be certified by government medical personnel to be physically and mentally suitable for appointment in services
  3. You must not suffer any physical or mental disability
  4. Has a good character and is not guilty of criminal offences
  5. The registration and selection process is free of charge

How to Log into KUCCPS Student Portal

Follow the steps below to access  and log into the KUCCPS online portal

  1. Explore the KUCCPS Website
  2. Navigate to the Student’s Portal
  3. Click on the Login Button
  4. Enter your KCSE Index Number, Year of KCSE and Your Password (KCPE Index or Birth Certificate Number) as provided by your teacher in secondary school
  5. Click on the Login button
  6. Wait for the system to authenticate and redirect you

You are to use their Birth Certificate No. / KCPE Index No (as used in KCSE Exam Registration) as your Initial Password

How to Select KUCCPS Programmes of Choice

The applicant will be expected to make applications by submitting their preferred choices where a valid choice will constitute a programme code, programme name and the institution name

  • Applicants with an overall grade of C+ and above will be allowed to make a maximum of 6 choices for degree programmes. 1(A), 1(B) and 1(C) must be similar programmes and 4 for diploma programmes
  • Applicants with an overall grade of C- and above are allowed to make a maximum of 8 choices. 4 for diploma and 4 for craft certificate programmes
  • Applicants with an overall grade of D and above will be allowed to make a maximum of 8 choices. 4 for craft certificates and 4 for artisan certificate programmes
  • Applicants with an overall grade of D- (Minus and below) will be allowed to make a maximum of 4 choices from artisan certificate programmes
  • An applicant may choose any programmes for which they qualify provided that no choice is repeated

KUCCPS Cut-Off Points

The KUCCPS Cut-off points for any year are the weighted cluster points for the last competitively placed applicant.

  1. The cut-off points are not predetermined and will not be available while applications are ongoing.
  2. Cut-off points vary by programme, institution and application year.
  3. Previous years’ cut-off points are provided to guide applicants during the application process.

How to Pay KUCCPS Application Fee 2024

To pay the KUCCPS (Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service) application fee in Kenya, you can follow these steps

M-Pesa Payment

  1. Go to the M-Pesa menu on your mobile phone
  2. Select Lipa na M-Pesa or Pay Bill 
  3. Enter the KUCCPS Paybill number
  4. Enter KUCCPS account number 
  5. Enter the amount of the application fee you need to pay
  6. Enter your M-Pesa PIN
  7. Review the details you entered and confirm the payment
  8. You will receive an M-Pesa confirmation message with the transaction details

Mobile Banking App

  1. Open your preferred mobile banking app
  2. Select the Pay Bill or Bills Payment option
  3. Enter the KUCCPS Paybill number
  4. Enter KUCCPS account number
  5. Enter the amount of the application fee you need to pay
  6. Review the details you entered and confirm the payment
  7. You will receive a confirmation message with the transaction details

Remember to retain the transaction details or receipts as proof of payment. After making the payment, allow some time for the payment to reflect in your KUCCPS account. You can then proceed with the application process on the KUCCPS website using the available payment option.
